This Privacy Policy describes how 8372128 Canada Inc. ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Pix application ("App").
1. Image Processing & Data Security
How we handle your photos: To provide AI coaching, your images are resized and compressed locally on your device before being transmitted securely to our AI partners (including Groq and Modal) for real-time analysis. We do not store your photos on our servers. We utilize AI providers for transient processing to generate coaching feedback. While we do not retain your images, data processed by third-party AI providers is subject to their respective privacy policies and security standards.
2. Information We Collect
We collect limited information to provide and improve our service:
a) Transient Image Data
When you use the coaching feature, a reduced-resolution version of the image frame is sent to our cloud AI providers for analysis. This data is used solely to generate composition and lighting suggestions. We do not retain this image data.
b) Coaching Metadata
We may collect and store anonymized text metadata, such as:
- Text descriptions of scenes (e.g., "person standing near fountain")
- Technical metrics (lighting levels, composition scores)
- AI-generated coaching suggestions
This data is used to improve our AI models. It contains no images and cannot be used to reconstruct your photographs.
c) Analytics Data
We use Firebase Analytics to collect:
- App usage patterns (feature usage, session duration)
- Device information (device type, operating system version)
- Crash reports and performance data
d) Purchase Information
Subscription and payment processing is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) and RevenueCat. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but do not have access to your credit card or payment details.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide real-time photography coaching
- Improve our AI models and coaching accuracy
- Analyze app performance and fix bugs
- Manage subscriptions and provide customer support
4. Third-Party Services
We share data with the following trusted third-party service providers solely for the purpose of operating the App:
- Groq & Modal: AI inference and image analysis (Transient processing only). Note: While we configure our API requests for zero-retention where possible, data processed by these providers is governed by their terms.
- Firebase (Google): Analytics, hosting, and crash reporting
- RevenueCat: Subscription management infrastructure
These services operate under their own privacy policies and security standards.
5. Data Retention
We do not retain user photographs. Anonymized coaching metadata (text only) may be retained indefinitely for model improvement. Analytics data is retained according to standard retention policies (typically 14 months).
6. Your Rights
Pix does not require account creation and does not collect personally identifiable information (PII) linked to your identity. Because we do not store your photos or maintain user accounts, there is generally no personal data for us to delete upon request. You maintain full control of the photos saved to your device.
7. Camera Permission
The App requires camera access to function. Camera access is used to:
- Display the live viewfinder
- Capture photographs when you press the shutter
- Transmit image frames to our AI engine for coaching analysis
We do not access your camera in the background or when the App is not in active use.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States and Canada. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.
10. Changes to Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App or on our website. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
